Video Rotation Unit for Police Helicopter Surveillance System
Description:
For a Police Helicopter Surveillance System, the Operator’s Screen had to be mounted in Portrait View (90° rotated). Whilst the GUI of the Software allowed the Rotation of the Desktop Content, the Live-Camera View could not be rotated. So we developed an airborne rugged Video Rotation Unit (VRU) - which is in fact a Video-Combiner/Mixer - which cuts out a square area from the first Input Signal, rotated it by 90° and finally overlayed this signal onto the Desktop Background (Input #2). The combined image was then output to the Operator’s Screen
